F, S, and I ran errands yesterday morning after M left. I picked up my footprints ring from the jeweler. I'd had it engraved to say GRACE 10-5-07.

On October 2, 2007, we learned at a routine 20 wk prenatal appt that the baby my husband Josh and I were expecting to be born in mid February 2008 had died. Our 6th child, Grace Eleanor, was stillborn on October 5, 2007.
We'd chosen her name before we even knew I was expecting her. "Grace" is named for the undeserved love God has for us. Her middle name "Eleanor" is after my grandmother. Little did we know how meaningful and appropriate her first name would become.
Sadly, just over a year later, on November 25, 2008, at a routine 18 wk prenatal appt, we again discovered that the child we were expecting had died. Hannah Meredith was born on November 26, 2008, exactly 5 months before her due date.
Hannah's name was chosen before we learned of her death. We gave her the name "Hannah" after Hannah in the Bible who pleadingly prayed to God for a child, as we also prayed for this child before her conception. "Meredith" is after my sister who shares that middle name.
This blog is a collection of entries chronicling our daughters' short lives and the thoughts and feelings I've experienced relating to them. I've made this blog public in the hope that it may give insight and bring comfort to others who find themselves suffering similar heartbreak.
Although the entries may not be recent, I receive notification when someone posts a comment so I will know a comment was left and read it. Comments are moderated, so you don't need to post again when your comment doesn't show up immediately after you post it.
